Join NPLSF as a Part-Time Administrator!

National Parks of Lake Superior Foundation is the nonprofit “friends” group for Lake Superior’s five beautiful national parks – Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, Grand Portage National Monument, Isle Royale National Park, Keweenaw National Historical Park, and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

 

A small but growing organization, NPLSF is helping the parks decarbonize their operations, protect moose populations, support education and cultural events, and tackle important issues such as staff housing. As we expand, we are looking for a part-time administrator to help manage business operations and formalize our systems. Position overview:

NPLSF seeks an experienced nonprofit administrator to work on a contract basis. Primarily a remote position, there will be occasional in-person meetings in our Saint Paul, MN office. Flexible hours responsive to workflow, averaging 10-15 hrs per week.

 

Key responsibilities and work areas:

  • Assist Executive Director in overall operations including maintaining an organizational calendar, tracking nonprofit filing requirements and paperwork, managing deadlines, and conducting other activities to ensure the organization meets nonprofit best practices.

  • Coordinate flow of information to contract accountant, including donations, bills, and financial report requests.

  • Support board meeting operations including scheduling, logistics, board packet preparation, and tracking follow up items.

  • Manage Donor Perfect database, including data entry, reports, mail merge, and general oversight to ensure best practices are maintained.

  • Support implementation of donor communication including preparing letters for mailing and coordinating with the printer.

  • Provide logistical support for in-person and remote meetings.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in an administrative capacity for a nonprofit organization.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Capacity to work independently and identify system improvements.

  • Experience with CRM database systems and best practices.

  • Strong technical skills and facility with remote office technology for information sharing, meetings, and document storage.
