Tim Cochrane

Tim Cochrane has worked collaboratively with Indigenous people much of his National Park Service career, culminating with a precedent-setting agreement for co-management of the Grand Portage National Monument with the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.  His career led him to work in parks in Alaska, Isle Royale (twice), and Grand Portage.  Tim is the author of five books about the area, most recently Making the Carry, an illustrated biography of John Linklater, of Anishinaabeg, Cree, and Scottish ancestry, and his wife, Tchi-Ki-Wis, of the Lac La Croix First Nation.
