When she became Superintendent of Apostle Islands National Lakeshore in 2019, Lynne Dominy stated, "For me, working for the National Park Service is a deep pleasure and immense responsibility. All of us work together to care for landscapes at the heart of many nations, which shape and celebrate many heritages.”

In her six years leading the park, Dominy has acted on her commitment to working together. In partnership with tribal leaders, surrounding community members, park partners, and others, she has led many improvements that have made a big difference in park health and visitor experience.

National Parks of Lake Superior Foundation (NPLSF) has been honored to partner on multiple important projects including a much heralded collaboration with National Geographic Magazine, park building and operations upgrades that improved resilience and reduced reliance on fossil fuel, and our most recent collaborative effort providing bat monitoring equipment for the park.

In spring 2025 Dominy announced her retirement, after a total of 38 years with the National Park Service. NPLSF was pleased to raise a glass to celebrate  her accomplishments. Thank you for your service, Lynne Dominy! We wish you the best of luck in your next endeavors.
