Tom Irvine draws on his lifelong connection to Lake Superior, his career in private sector leadership, and his experience engaging diverse stakeholders in his crucial role of leading NPLSF.  His forefathers manned lighthouses that are now part of Isle Royale National Park, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, and Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, and Tom now splits his time between Lake Superior and St. Paul. He spent most of his career in industrial services and manufacturing and has a history of partnership building and entrepreneurship, skills that are vital in his work to create meaningful connections with the five national parks around Lake Superior by raising funds for capital projects, programming, educational initiatives, and outreach efforts. A NPLSF Board member beginning in 2019, Tom became the organization’s first full-time executive director in October 2021.
